Again

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, July 21

G. Pirie has been given another chance to achieve his greatest ambition—to complete a “golden double” at the Olympics. He was chosen yesterday for both the 5000 and 10,000 metres at the Games in Rome next month. Pirie is on a provisional list of 40 men and women athletes announced by the British Amateur Athletic Board It is the third time that Pirie has been nominated for the double, but he has failed to win a gold medal.

Pirie’s protege, M. Wiggs, is the board’s only choice at present for the 1500 metres. P. Radford, Britain’s fastest-ever sprinter, has been nominated for the 100 and 200 metres.
