5000 Dollars For Balloch Song
HAMILTON, July 18. Balloch Song, a mare foaled in 1955 and in foal to Count Rendered, was sold for 5000 dollars at the dispersal of Mr E. R. Worth’s thoroughbred stock at Waiuku. The purchasers were Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., on behalf of a Californian buyer. Other sales included: A weanling br c by Count Rendered—Radiant Praise _ (foaled October 27, 1959), 725gns; to Wright, Stephenson and Co. as agents, Palmerston North; a weanling br c by Balloch—Tango Star (October 12, 1959), to Kinross Stud, Te Kauwhata, 350gns; a weanling ch c by Balloch— Tuihana (October 12, 1959), to Kinross Stud, 206gns; a weanling br f by Count Rendered—Gold Glean (November 29, 1959), to Wright, Stephenson and” Co.. Matamata, as agents, 260gns. A brood mare, Ticonundra (served by Chatsworth II), to J. D. Foote, Dee Lodge, Papakura, 400gns; a b f by Fair Titan (foaled 1957), served by Golovine, to Kinross Stud, 175gns;a brood mare. Azov (served by Rejoicing), to R. Johns, Takanini, lOOgns; a brood mare. Sunny Smile (foaled 1954), to Carl Powell, Abadeen, New South Wales, 425gns; a brood mare, Matapouri (foaled 1954), to Don Muir, Waiuku, 30gns; a 7-year-old g, Warlaby, to R. B. Millar, Maungatautari, 30gns. The sale was conducted by Wright Stephenson and Co, Ltd.
