Two Badly Hurt When Car Hits Tree

(New Zso«ma Press Association) PALMERSTON NTH., July 7. When a car hit a tree in Fitzherbert avenue, Palmerston North, at 7.45 last night, the two occupants, a woman and a man, were seriously injured. They are Miss Valarie Francis, a waitress, aged 22. and Frederick Ivan Robinson, a jockey, aged 29.

Miss Francis received a broken leg, fractured skull and lacerations to the face. Her condition is critical. Mr Robinson received head and facial injuries and his condition is described as serious. Mr Robinson was engaged to ride County in the Trentham Hurdles on Saturday.
