Mediterranean, ran a brilliant trial at Canterbury today and proved hi* fitness for next Saturday's Warwick Farm meetIng, He set the standard for five furlong* when he registered Imin Si sec, which was Usee faster than the next best for the morning over the distance. - With the going still on th* hiding side. Mediterranean worked 48 feet out from the rails on the
course proper. Mediterranean t* to run in th* 11 furlongs Homestead Handicap at the Farm on Saturday. Hie trainer. D Webster, of New Zealand, has said that If the
stayer shapes reasonably well he wiH take Mediterranean back to Brisbane for the Doomben Cup. which will be held on Saturday week. Webster had Mediterranean up north for the Brisbane Cup carnival earlier this month but the horse failed in the cup. although two days previously he had iron the Hamilton Handicap at Eagle Farm.
