Complaint About Board A claim that the Christchurch Transport Board did not give any reasons why bus services were refused was made by two representatives to Residents’ Affiliated at a meeting on Thursday. “There is no justification for the service we propose being turned down,” said Mr R. Dasler (North New Brighton Resident's Association). ‘‘Two extensions have been made and they cover as great a distance as we originally asked for,” he said. The route which Mr Dasler suggested was down Bower avenue a'd along Beach road to the present terminus.

Mr Dasler was speaking to z the letter to Residents’ Affiliated from the North New Brighton association. The letter suggested an inquiry into transport -services. ’ “If the Transport Board does not run a service to new areas then only those persons will go there who have transport of their own.” i Mr Dasler said that the general manager of the Transport Board made a' confidential report to the works and traffic committee and that it was on this that a decision about new services was made. He believed that a full explanation ' shduld be given by the board When any refusals for services were made. “North Beach and Hoon Hay are examples of bad road .planning and this makes it difficult to service them properly with buses,” he said. The meeting decided to write to the, Transport Board asking that the board supply a copy of the reasons for the refusal.
