Properties To Be Kept Under Observation (New Zeaianq Press Assoctattoni AUCKLAND June 30 Citrus trees in areas of Auckland where canker has been discovered will be kept under observation by the Diepartment of Agriculture for at least two years The senior horti"iiltural inspector at Auckland (Mr J J Hiam) said today that 400 properties in the Manurewa area—where the Outbreak was first discovered—would be watched. Other properties in the Kohimarama. Pukekohe and Blockhouse Bay areas would also be kept under supervision to ensure that the disease did not break out in force. If the disease was found in an area after infected trees had been destroyed, another two years’ observatory period would be necessary, he said.
