PLANNING OF FAMILIES
Clinics “Now Accepted”
“Family Planning Association clinics are now an accepted part of New Zealand life,” said the newly-elected Dominion president of the association, Dr. Alice Bush, of Auckland, in a statement to the fifth biennial conference at Lower Hutt.
“As the medical work of the association has now become an integral part of its work, a happy co-operation with the British Medical Association has become important. I have accepted the position of president because I think this will enable me to act as a liaison officer between the Family Planning Association and the British Medical Association,” said Dr. Bush.
An important step at the conference was the ratification of a Dominion medical advisory committee. The chairman and convener is Dr. Bush.
During the conference the film “Birthright," made in England under the auspices of the Family Planning Association of the United Kingdom, was shown for the first time in New Zealand. As guests of the association, the Mayoress of Wellington (Mrs F. J. Kitts) and the Dominion president of the Federation of Parents’ Centres (Mrs Helen Brew) expressed their interest. Inquiries
