Hoardings
Sir, —C ongratulations to “Tocsin.” The Christchurch Transport Board must be the most aesthetically bankrupt local body in this country. In the name of economy they have turned the ratepayers’ buses into hideous sandwich boards. Now even the bus stop seats have sponsors. Who dreams up this ugliness, the general manager or his board? Who are the board members so devoid of civic decency as to approve seats covered with hoardings?— Yours, etc, J S P June 18, 1960.
