Freezing Works Dispute
Sir,—The freezing workers and the Federation of Labour are showing just how loyal they are to the country in which they get their living by not allowing meat and butter to be loaded for export. What is the Government doing about it? I would say it is sitting on the fence as usual, afraid of offending. I venture to say had the Opposition been the Government the boats now lying idle at our ports would have been loaded and on their way again. It is just as well there is an election just around the corner when all sane people will know just how to vote. —Yours, etc., FIFTY YEARS A WORKER. June 14. 1960.
