CITY SOCIETY OF BELLRINGERS

79th Annual Meeting Twice during the year the bells of the cathedral had been rung for Royal occasions, said the secretary of the Christchurch Society of Bellringers (Mr E. N. Sloan) in his report at the seventy-ninth annual meeting held recently. “The future of the society, in regard to membership, was bright, as it has been many a year since so many pupil bellringers were available.” Miss R. Hatfield and Mr D. Garside were elected members of the society. Officers elected were:—Patron, the Bishop of Christchurch (the Right Rev. A. K. Warren); president, the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. M. Sullivan); master, Mr R. H. Idle; deputymaster, Mr J. V. Freeman: secretary and treasurer, Mr G. N. Sloan; custodian, Mr J. Dunn; committee, Messrs C. Ward, C. Hollobon, W. A. Saunders, W. D. Sloan, N. F. Reeve and H. Mee; auditor, Mr E. A. McPherson.
