CATHEDRAL SQUARE CORNER
Representations By Shopkeepers Representatives of shopkeepers in the north-west corner of Cathedral square met the City Council’s traffic committee recently to discuss means of overcoming difficulties caused by “undesirable elements” congregating in that part of the Square. Earlier, the shopkeepers had proposed that the traffic zone should be removed to a position adjacent to the footpath, but this was not approved by the committee. As a result of the latest discussions, it had been decided to make' further investigations of the problem, the committee told the council last evening.
