Railway Crossing Hazards

The hazards at railway level crossings were the subject of a letter received from the Canterbury Automobile Association by the committee of the South Island Motor Union yesterday. It was decided to write to the Railways Department asking it to continue the policy of providing warning systems at level crossings in urban areas.

“In view of the present expansion of the railways it would be best if the railways locked some doors before opening others,” said Mr E. R. Casbolt (Canterbury).
