Co-Operation
PRETORIA, June 4.
The South African Minister of Justice (Mr Erasmus) said today there should be closer co-opera-tion between the police and Army in action and possibly in training. From the point of view of the State, this would save money and manpower. He appealed to the Englishspeaking youth of the country to join the Police Force, which was handicapped by a shortage of recruits.
“Last year, 1 am sorry to admit. less than 10 per cent of the youth who enlisted came from English-speaking homes.” he said The rest were Afrikaners
