COLTS’ GAME
Canterbury Beats J West Coast
At Williamson Park the Canterbury Colts beat the West Coast by 8 goals to 2. In a very open game, the play was characterised by much hard hitting and great speed, but the amount of control which the respective teams exhibited was modest. Canterbury was seldom in trouble and enjoyed a general superiority because of better stick-work, although its level of stick-work was far from commendable. Goals were scored for Canterbury by C. Francis (2'. L. Smith (2). T. Iggo (2'. B. Monk and B. Judge, while R. Best and R. Clements scored for West Coast. Junior Match In a curtain-raiser the Canterbury fourth grade representatives lost to the West Coast junior representatives by 4 goals to 1.
