Indoor Bowls N.Z. TITLES

Section Games In Pairs Begin (New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 6. The high standard of play achieved in the singles at the national indoor bowling championships at Lower Hutt during the week-end was maintained today when section games in the pairs began. Three pairs who were former championship winners qualified for post-section play on Thursday. Prominent players were G. Bain and A. H. Thomas, of Wellington, who won titles in 1954 and 1958 and who today gained the maximum number of points to qualify. Two other formerlysuccessful teams were Mrs E. Peterson and E. Pilgrim (skip), of Horowhenua. winners in Auckland in 1955. and Mrs N. Buckley and L. Dunn (skip), of Canter•bury, who won at Hastings in 1958.

Section play for pairs will continue tomorrow and post-section play in the singles will also take place.
