Table Tennis JAPANESE WOMEN AT AUCKLAND
Local Players Fail To Win Set (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 6. The Auckland women’s table tennis team tonight took a severe drubbing from the brilliant Japanese women tourists, Misses K. Matsuzaki and K. Yamaizumi The local players failed to win a set from the world champions and rarely looked likely to do so. Results were:— Miss K. Yamaizumi beat Miss S. Biddle, 21-6, 21-8; Miss Matsuzaki beat Miss A. Mutch, 21-4. 21-8; Miss Yamaizumi beat Mrs B. Moody, 21-10, 21-12; Miss Matsuzaki beat Miss Packwood, 21-9, 21-5; Misses Matsuzaki and Yamaizumi beat Miss Packwood and Mrs Moody, 21-12, 21-16. In an exhibition doubles match A. H. Tomlinson and Miss Yamaizumi beat R. V. Jackson and Miss Matsuzaki, 17-21, 21-14, 21-13.
