Customs Returns For April
Revenue collected by the Customs Department in Christchurch in April was £762,916, compared with £982,054 last year—a decrease of £219.138. The sharpest drop was in sales tax which fell by £139,218. Totals, with figures for April last year in parenthesis, are: Customs and excise, £476,433 (£432,388); petrol tax, £150,993 (£176,587); tyres. £421 (£307); sales tax, £131,410 (£270.628); light dues. £869 (£1024); miscellaneous. £2790 (£1120).
