(Neu, Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 27. The generally high standard of musicianship apparent in auditions recently held for the National Youth Orchestra is favourably commented on in a statement issued today on behalf of the joint committee of the National Youth Orchestra. In general, the standard was higher than in 1959. and was an indication of the benefits arising from membership of the orchestra and from the incentive to work for selection, the statement says.
