Apartheid
Sir,—l am accused of Ignorance on Africa! My detractors are probably right! But I have really and truly been there. From what Messrs Th ompson and Acre say. I am sure they have not I have Worked with the Foreign Legion in Algeria; camped at Suez; travelled the Suez Canal I also kept my eyes open, too. Today, the blacks have had us British. The whole of the African black population refuses to be oppressed and scorns enemies who profess to be friends. Nevertheless, we British have given Africans the miracles of justice and freedom from contagious diseases. — Yours etc., RALPH S. WHEELER April 8, 1960.
