Film Of Shooting Shown On TV
NEW YORK, April 11. American television viewers last night saw a brief film showing the assassination attempt on the South African Prime Minister (Dr. Verwoerd) on Saturday. The film, shown on a late-night television news broadcast after having been sent across the transatlantic telephone cable, was the same one shown earlier in the day to British viewers by the 8.8. C., according to a spokesman for the National Broadcasting Company (N.8.C.). .. An N.B.C. cameraman was said to have taken the pictures at the Johannesburg exposition grounds. They showed the Prime Minister in the moments after the bullets struck him, falling back with blood pouring down his face, and also the confusion around him as people leaped for the would-be assassin. »
