“Great Pity,” Says Mr Skiimer
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 10. The attempted assassination of Dr. Verwoerd, was a “great pity”, said the acting-Prime Minister, Mr Skinner, in Wellington tonight “We sympathise with anyone in these circumstances,” he said. “I know he has been facing a great dilemma. He was carrying ou f the policy of his party, even though we do not think it is the correct policy to follow and would not dream of implementing it ourselves. We think it is wrong.
