A Te Keuwhata driver, G. Butler, drove Typhoon to a new 71.35 mile an hour record for the New Zealand unlimited V*bottom dam. In hto first attempt be neorded 70.46 miles an hour, less than 1 per cent above the 70.34 miles an hour previous record. F. E. Gatland, in Widget V. established 79 miles an hour for the 95 cubic tach and 140 cubic inch hydro class. His own previous record was 68.83 miles an hour.
