Contract Bridge Auckland Players Win N.Z. Pairs
(New Zealand Press Association! HAMILTON, April 10. Auckland players were dominant at the New Zealand contract bridge pairs tournament held in Hamilton over the week-end. Ninety-two pairs from as far afield as Dunedin competed in the tournament, which occupied four sessions. J. W. Dodd and J. F. Martin, of Auckland, with 1274*,i points, were the winners ahead of the New Zealand representatives, B. C. Bell and R. Evans, also of Auckland, 1250',i points, second, Mrs H. O. Taylor and A. Brainbury. of Auckland, 1229, third, and Dr. and Mrs W. J. Hutchison, of Wellington, last year’s champions, 1204", a points, fourth. The silver salver for the club gaining most points, was won by the Northern club, of Auckland.
