LARGE KAURI LOG TRANSPORTED

Old Time Transport Exhibit (New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI. April 10. A large kauri log, 16ft long and with a girth of about 23ft. was transported from Waipoua Forest to Paparoa yesterday for the Old Time Transport Preservation League. The log is estimated to contain 7500 super feet of timber. It is about half of a tree which was felled in the forest two weeks ago by a team of Matakohe residents assisted by a Donnelly’s Crossing contractor, Mr E. Olsen. . The log will be used to complete an exhibit of the bush tram now being restored by the league.
