CAR COES OVER BANK

Driver Suffers Gash On Face A severe gash on the face and other lacerations were suffered by Mr P W Watson, of 11 Euston street. Riccarton, when the car he was driving in the Canterbury Car Club’s annual hill climb titles on the Summit road on Saturday afternoon failed to take a bend and went over a bank between the Sign of the Kiwi and Gebbie’s Pass. Mr Watson struck barbed wire. The car came to rest in bushes, and did not overturn. Mr Watson was taken by a St. John ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital and was later sent to the Burwood Hospital.
