The Bay of Plenty Racing Club held the first day of its autumn meeting in fine and sunny weather before a large crowd at the Tauranga racecourse on Saturday. The track was soft. The double, Marwon and Astounding, paid £175 15s for £l. The totalisator handled £57,728 on-course, compared with £50,990 last year.
