Proponder Sets Record
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, March 27 Proponder set an Australian and New Zealand record of Imin 2 4-ssec for five furlongs and a half in winning the Caulfield sprint yesterday. This was only 2-ssec outside the world record shared by Porterhouse, which ran Imin 2 2-ssec at Hollywood Park in 1957, and Plater, which also set his time in America in 1902 Proponder was the fourth horse to break the record • this year Others weve Royal Artist, Small Time, and Power Duke.
