Artillery Ball At Addington

The 32nd Battery of the Third Field Regiment, Royal New Zealand Artillery, held a ball at the Addington Military Barracks on Saturday evening.

The Southern Military District Artillery Band, under the command of Lieutenant Woolard, provided music for most of the evening.

Specially-invited guests included the following: LieutenantColonel Stuart Jones, prer'dent of the Canterbury Artillery Officers’ Mess; Captain C. Stanbridge. secretary of the ,mess, and Mrs Stanbridge; Lieutenant-Colonel R. K. Baker, commanding officer of the regiment, and Mrs Baker; Major C. T. M. Hardy, 2.1. C. of the regiment. and Mrs Hardy; Captain R. G. Ritchie, commander of the battery, and Mrs Ritchie.

The ball committee was as follows: Second-Lieutenant G. L. Willis, Warrant Officers S. F. Hill, C. Cadigan and C. Clements. Bombardier B. Gilchrist, LanceBombardiers R. Buckley and M. J. Cummack. Because of the success of this ball it is hoped the artillery ball can be extended to include other gunner regiments in Canterbury.

Rangi-ruru Old Girls.—Reunion activities of the Rangi-ruru Old Girls’ Association, planned for last Saturday, were postponed because of the rain. At the annual meeting this evening a suitable date for holding Saturday’s progran&ie will be discussed.
