Peasants Refusing to Sell Grain. A report in a Chinese Communist newspaper, “Kwangs! Daily,” accused some peasants or refusing to sell grain to the State. In a dispatch from Nanning, capital of Kwangsi province in south China, the newspaper said many Chinese peasants had made false reports on the real grain output They were therefore able to hide and divide among themselves any "surplus’ ’ grain so as to 1 live a - little better.”—Reuter.
