Up to yesterday approximately 3000 cubic yards of filling had been dumped on the mudflats adjacent to Park, near the site of the future stationAt present the emphasis is on gaining access to the station area so that a’ complete series of investigations and tests can be carried out Tests will be made to determine the best materials and methods, from the point of view of adequacy, speed of construction and costs. The characteristics of the overlaying mud and lower strata are of particular importance. In the Pelorus area, location surveys are proceeding.
