RESEARCH ON WOOL
New Co-ordinating Committee (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 4. A widely representative committee to guide and co-ordinate wool research in New Zealand is to be established. Approval of the composition of- the committee and a draft order of reference was given by the Wool Board yesterday. The first meeting will be held shortly. The new body will be a committee of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, and will recommend to the council and to the Wool Board the allocation of funds for work on approved projects at Massey College and Lincoln College, and other institutions. Members of the committee will be: Two nominees of the Wool Board, two of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, one each of the two colleges, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and the Department of Agriculture, together with Dr. W. H. Hamilton (ex officio as secretary of the D.5.1.R.). Mr F. R. Callaghan, who will leave shortly for Britain as the Wool Board’s representative at the international wool textile conference at Harrogate, will be an observer on the committee.
