GERALDINE EWE FAIR
“The Press” Special Service TIMARU, February 24. About 11,500 two-tooth ewes and lambs came forward at the Geraldine two-tooth ewe and lamb fair today. Quality was generally good, and there was a fair attendance of buyers. After a weak opening the market recovered to a level equal to other South Canterbury sales this season, and there was an almost total clearance. The best of the ewe lambs made from 42s 6d to 47s 6d, with good at 38s to 41s 6d, average at 30s to 375, and others from 20s to 295. The pick of the two-tooth ewe offering realised from 65s to 71s 6d, with good at 60s to 645, average at 50s to 595, and others from 30s to 48s.
