More Attractive Than King’s Shilling
The career aspect of Army life is featured by the Army in its display at the New Zealand Industries Fair. The advantages of life in the service as a career are outlined, with the accent of the Royal Australian Military College, Duntroon, the New Zealand Regular Force and the Regular Force Cadets. The Royal New Zealand Artillery display is mainly a photographic one depicting the work done within the trade groups of 163 Battery, the regular battery at Burnham.
s The Army’s clothing is displayed s by the Royal New Zealand Army - Ordnance Corps and shows the basic issue of clothing made to recruits. > Medical interest is found Jn the ~ display by the Royal New Zealand . Of special interest will be the r working display of the Royal New - Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers who will transfer to the fair some of the work nor- ■ mally done at Bumham Camp. • This consists of repairs to rifles t and machine-guns. Other equipf ment on display are line boring, r and valve grinding machines and a honing machine.

Malaya. A trophy case will show various sporting and operational awards which were made to the battalion. Visitors to the battalion’s stall are invited to handle the equipment on display, which includes the latest FN rifle. Sterling sub-machine carbine, ana other weapons with which the battalion is equipped. A highlight of the Army's show will be the cooking demonstrations by Royal New Zealand Army Service Corps. This corps also displays a model "dropping zone,” showing supplies being parachuted to jungle troops.
