“Indonesia Will Get Aid Offer”
(N.Z Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, Feb. 14. The Soviet Union was expected to snake a dramatic offer of aid to Indonesia during the visit of its Prime Minister (Mr Khrushchev), the American Associated Press reported in a dispatch from Djakarta. Indonesian officials have stressed that economic talks will be an important part of the Soviet leader’s visit, A.AP. said. Indonesia is beset with serious economic troubles. An offer of aid would give a needed boost to the big Indonesian Communist Party. Its fortunes have sagged somewhat during China’s recent dispute with the .Djakarta Government over a ban on foreign traders, most of them Chinese.
