U.S. PROTEST TO CUBA

“Illegal Seizure Of Property”

(N.Z. Press Association— Copyright) WASHINGTON, Jan. 11.

The United States today protested to Cuba against what it termed the illegal seizure of property owned by American citizens in Cuba, the State Department announced.

The State Department did not release the text of the Note, but announced that it had “protested to the Government of Cuba against the numerous actions taken by officials of that Government which are considered by the United States Government to be in denial of the basic rights of ownership of United States citizens in Cuba—rights provided both under Cuban law and generally accepted international law.”
