Awards To N.Z. Astronomers

(N.Z Press Association —Coppnqm LONDON, January 12. Mr Albert Lofley Jones, of Timaru, New Zealand, and Mr Frank Maine Bateson, of the Cook Islands, have received awards from the Royal Astronomical Society of Great Britain, the society announced in London today. A society spokesman said both men had been awarded the Jackson Medal and gift of the society for their work on variable stars in the southern hemisphere.. The award, made irregularly was last given four years ago.
