Social Security
Sir, —I wish to support Tom Bryce on his able and authentic letter on social security. So many people appear to have such short memories that it is indeed refreshing to find that some remember the many good measures placed on the Statute Book by a Labour Government.—Yours, etc B. O'CONNOR. January 12, 1960.
Sir.—What does it matter what Mr Savage said to Mr Nash in 1938 or vice versa? The fact remains that the act is now due for a complete overhaul. Which party will have the courage to suggest cutting out the dead wood? Labour seems to be in its historical (or hysterical) role chattering out on a rotten limb.— Yours, etc., TOUT CELA CA CHANGE. January 12, 1960.
Sir,—Do your writers favouring the present social security system tell us if they think all the money is going the best way? Yours, etc., FAR BACK DAN. January 11, 1960.
