Standing Orders Suspended
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 24 The Labour Party ."shadow Cabinet the Parliamentary leadership—last night to recommend the suspension of the party’s standing orders'fo a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party today. The standing orders, governing the voting of Labour members of Parliament and including disciplinary provisions,, would bereplaced by a general resolution which would make,' It clear that membership entailed the tion to vote according to party decisions. The change wopld mean thfct members would nave more freedom to abstain from voting against their conscience—bn religious and moral issues, for instance. But to vote outright against the party would still Incur the wrath of the “whips.”;
