Milk Bars Accept Cigarette Prices

£eaiq.nu Press, Assocuitutn.) AUCKLAND, November 12.

Consumer resistance in Auckland has forced nearly all the milk bars and restaurants which were still charging the old prices for cigarettes yesterday to lower them today. Only one Queen street restaurant was holding out today for the old prices of Is 5d for 10 cigarettes and 2s lOd for 20. A typical comment came from the spokesman for another restaurant: “People badgered us so much when we asked the old prices that it wasn’t worth while to keep them up.”
