Key Found In Drawer

About £27 was stolen from the safe at the office of the New Zealand Fruit Growers’ Federation, 7 Duke street, on Wednesday night The office was ransacked.

The theft was discovered by staff arriving at work at 8.30 a.m. yesterday. Papers were Uttered about the floor, drawers were turned out, dockets torn up and the safe door open. ,• The safe had been opened with a key which had been left in a drawer. The money was taken from tins, but the cheques were not touched. The thief entered the office by slipping the catch, reaching through a broken section of a rear window.
