Bookmakers Face Big Losses (N.Z.. Press Association—Copyright) n , SYDNEY, October 4. Backers of doubles stand to win about £150,000 if the New Zealand stayer Foxmara wins the Metropolis tan at Randwick tomorrow. Bookmakers said yesterday that Foxmara had been coupled in doubles for this amount with Noholme. the all-the-way winner of the Epsom Handicap. They said they were up for big •osses. whatever won the Metropolitan. Each of the 18 horses still in the second leg of the double had been coupled with Noholme for big money. The second heaviest liability was Noholme's stablemate. Native Land They had been coupled to win £BO,OOO. Valerius has been coupled with Noholme to win £20,000 from one bookmaker alone. Even the outsider. Saree. which is quoted at three figures for the Metropolitan, has been coupled with Noholme
The Metropolitan is due to start at 5 p.m New Zealand time.
