CATCHMENT BOARD PAY

All Employees To Have Increase To maintain existing margins the general order wage increase is to apply to all employees of the North Canterbury Catchment Board. Moving a motion to this effect at a meeting of the board yesterday, Dr. G. Jobberns, chairman of the finance committee, said it would mean a total increase of £4500 a year, £3BOO of which was mandatory. The finance committee thought the increase should be paid to all the employees. It would apply to the relief workers, too, but they were not expected to be with the board beyond the end of this month.

The motion was seconded by Mr J. L. Barriball and carried.
