Riccarton High School Board

The resignation of Mrs John Broomfield from the staff of Riccarton High School was received by the Board of Governors yesterday. She will be going to Canberra next year with her husband, who has a research scholarship of the Australian National University. Miss A. T. Gale (music) and Mr E. N. Bracey (art), both at present on the staff, have been confirmed in permanent positions from next year. Strict conditions were fixed by the board for the use of the school courts by a church tennis club. A deposit of £2O will be required and £5 retained for depreciation. A named adult official must be responsible for behaviour and damage at all times.

The headmaster (Mr A. J. Gainsford) said rigid rules had to be made because a public high school could not have its activities or property upset by visiting persons.
