SCHOLARSHIPS IN PAKISTAN
Two Offered To N.Z. Students
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. September 16.
The Government of Pakistan has offered two scholarships for university study in Pakistan to New Zealand students ,the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) announced today. The scholarships will carry a stipend of 200 rupees (about £N.Z.IS a month).
The scholarships will cover a full range of degree and diploma courses, but preference will be given to applicants desiring graduate or post-graduate studies for which facilities are not available here. English is the official language of the universities in Pakistan.
The stipend of 200 rupees a month, in the light of living costs in Pakistan, is considered adequate to cover accommodation and all fees associated with the university course. The student will be required to arrange and pay for his transport to and from Pakistan.
Detailed information on the terms of the scholarship may beobtained from the Department of External Affairs. Applications close with the department on September 28.
