He talked with the Prime Minister Mr about 45 minutes. Later Mr Macmillan held five hours of discussions with other Ministers on election tactics. The “Daily Telegraph's political correspondent said that the secretary of the Labour Party, Mr Morgan Phillips, yesterday' sent out what amounted to warnings to the secretaries of all organisations affiliated with the party, telling them to be prepared. The correspondent said the current political climate was so obviously favourable to the Government that few politicians believed that there was any likelihood of the election being delayed beyond the autumn.
