Obituary

MISS M. L. BICKNELL (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 27. Miss Mary Lillias Bicknell, of Remuera, died in Auckland yesterday, aged 100. She was born in Melbourne and came to New Zealand when her father became postmaster at Oamaru in 1864. Miss Bicknell lived in Oamaru and Christchurch and served in China as a missionary. Later she became co-founder and mistress of Queen Victoria School for Maori girls in Auckland.
