Well-Earned Success

Sacred Heart, winner of this season’s basketball competition, has fully earned its success. At the start of the season' the team had only two experienced senior players, Eileen Black and the captain, Bernice McAleer.

The new players did very well however, and Maureen Dwan and Maureen Murray both represented Canterbury. Pam Lawson and Norma Fahey are both young players of tremendous promise and should do well next year. Pauline Glubb has been a very accurate goal shooter.

Next month Sacred Heart will travel to Auckland to play the Auckland Catholic representative basketball team. The coach, Julie Murray, a former Canterbury representative, will accompany the team.
