TOP MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE

Three-Day Programme In Christchurch The New Zealand Institute of Management has chosen the theme “staying in business” for its top management conference to be held in Christchurch from Wednesday. August 26 to Friday, August 28. The conference will be held in the University of Canterbury Hall, and will be officially opened at 8 p.m. on the Wednesday by Mr C. H. Perkins, chancellor of the University of Canterbury, and also a member of the advisory board of the Canterbury division of the Institute of Management. A Mayoral reception will be held on the Thursday evening at a hotel, when the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr G. Manning) will welcome delegates and their wives Topics for address-discussions include the general economic situation in New Zealand, balanced growth of business through organisation, better utilisation of existing resources, the role of the chief executive in business, and planning for estate conservation, business taxation, and death duty reouirements.

The speakers include Mr J. V. T. Baker. Government statistician, the founder of the New Zealand Institute of Management, Mr R D. Greenwood, who is now a management consultant in Wellington, Mr A. B. Barker, managing director of Kelvinator (Australia) Ltd., and Mr E. O. Hunter, chairman and managing directs* of Ross and Glendining, LtdDunedin.
