FIRST BATTALION, N.Z. REGIMENT
Second Anniversary Celebrated The second anniversary of the formation of the Ist Battalion, New Zealand Regiment was celebreated with special dinners in the officers’ and men’s messes and a social evening in the sergeants’ mess at the Ist Battalion camp at Taiping, Malaya. To mark the occasion, a special order of the day was issued by Brigadier H. J. Mogg, commander of the 28th Commonwealth Brigade, of which the regiment forms a part. In his order, which was read to the battalion at an anniversary parade on August 2 by the commanding officer, LieutenantColonel W. R. K. Morrison, Brigadier Mogg said: “I send you and all ranks of your battalion best wishes on the second anniversary of the formation of the regiment. I congratulate you all on the battalion’s magnificent record of service since its arrival in Malaya. Your reputation stands high and must be an inspiration to all who serve with the battalion.”
