SOUTH OTAGO DOG SHOW
The annual show of the South Otago Kennel Club was held at Balclutha. From an entry of 142 dogs the judge, Mrs ,C. M. Cooper, of Ashburton, chose F. H. and Mrs West’s cocker spaniel Red Shoes of In verlock as best in the show. The runner-up was E. A. Hopkins’ smooth-coated fox terrier Ch. Bromley Bobbie. Mrs Medex’s standard long haired dachshund Dunkerron Thicket was best puppy in the show.
Group winners were:— Best Toys.—F. H. and Mrs West’s pug Scarborough Pimm.. Terrier.—E. A. Hopkins’s fox terrier Ch. Bromley Bobbie. Non-sport-ing.—T. R. and Mrs Rushbridge's Samoyed Birchleigh Chinnoka. Best sporting.—F. H. and Mrs West's cocker spaniel Red Shoes of Inverlock. Local challenge winners were:— Miniature black and tan.—Mrs K. Holland’s Severnside Red Robin. Pugs—F. H. and Mrs West’s Scarborough Pimm. Fox terriers.— E. A. Hopkins’s Ch. Bromley Bobbie. Shetland sheepdogs.—Miss S. J. Ward's Ballerina of Bunny Lodge. Rough coated collie—Mrs G. King’s Glenlue Golden Pick. Samoyed.—T. R. and Mrs Rushbridge’s Birchleigh Chinnoka. Welsh corgi.—Mrs M. A. Voice’s Glyndjvr Riotus. Miniature dachshund (long haired).—H. Slade's Brenva Crib. Miniature dachshund (smooth coated).—J. D. and Mrs Ward’s Sylvan Leprechaun. Standard dachshund.—Miss J. Wiffen’s Delaware Regina. Cocker spaniel.—F. H. and Mrs West’s Red Shoes of Inverlock. Labrador retrievers.—L. E. Armstrong’s Meg of Willowlea.
